We believe that everyone should have access to well-designed and functional housing.
We approach every step in the process, from the floor plan to the fixtures, with our intentions set on creating the best possible product for a price that doesn't break the bank. Through building smaller and smarter, Foothold homes are designed to do right by you, your wallet, and the earth.
Foothold is committed to using the best possible materials and methods to ensure that each structure lasts for a lifetime.
Modular design means you can start small, and build out as time and money allow.
A high-performance thermal envelope, triple paned windows, and other passive house design elements come together to make a house that has lower utility bills.
"A secure position from which further progress may be made." – OED
We are committed to creating high-quality, affordable, and sustainable homes. Foothold believes that well built and reasonably priced homes can have a positive impact on individuals and communities by creating more equitable opportunities for home ownership.
Prefabrication is not a new idea. Sears, Roebuck & Co. delivered 40,000 homes around the United States by railroad boxcar between 1908 and 1940. Following World War II, mobile houses boomed across the country, but as these units aged past their intended lifespan, manufactured became synonymous with poverty and blight. Advances in methods and materials are enabling a new era in offsite construction. Modular homes can now be built to more rigorous standards and with more quality control.
We believe that several benefits are achievable by systematizing the construction process.
Building in a factory means you have more control over variables that drive up cost in traditional construction projects.
Better working conditions means happier crew members and greater attention to detail. That results in higher quality at the end of the day.
By designing with lean manufacturing in mind, Foothold builds homes with significantly less waste than traditional on-site builders.
We are in the early phases of this project, but thanks for making it this far.
